I forgot to mention (actually I just found this out)…the trailer hitch  will
only fit 87-91 4Runners…apparently the pickups with the spare tire underneath
    need a different style hitch.

Marietta Jeep sold a friend one about like what  you’re mentioning< – CD> back
in Feb for around 28,000 including tax. He picked up a V8 Limited a week or so
ago for about 31,500 before tax. The V8 has a good bit more power but it
    drinks the gas.

I can say they do their best to service their customers.

    OK.  Invoice = 24,500.
    Qoute Price = 27,500.
    MSRP = 29,000.

What does this mean.  It means you can ignore the last two numbers.  You
live near the largest Jeep/Eagle dealer in the world.  Jasper Jeep/eagle.
It is off 575 in jasper (duh).  Their standard policy is to charge 195
above invoice.  You don’t even have to go there.  Just tell the dealer
close to Tech that you went there and they will match it.

Do you have a trade in.  if you do, tell the dealer that you are going
to buy from that Jasper offered you 500$ more than any other dealer
really did offer for it.  No Problem.

I just bought a wrangler from Roswell Jeep.  I got a great price.  All
I had to do was say "Jasper" and they started scrambling.  (Although
    I actualy did go there.)

Also, get a invoice.  It is nice to be able to make sure they are being
    honest.

Let me know if I can help at all.

I can’t believe you guys think you can "out deal" a dealer.

Spend $10-15 dollars to get a QUOTE from Consumer Reports and
then you’ll have the best bargaining power you can have.

Consumer Reports, in their latest Car Buyer’s Guide, report a higher
than average repair rate on Jeep SUVs, also on Blazers and Jimmys.
The Ford Explorer has a better than average repair rate. I bought
a 1994 Explorer 4.0 XLT in Nov and love it. I got the 2WD so can’t
comment on gas mileage for 4WD, but I get around 16 in town and 22 on
the road. The 94 XLT went for around 24K, and they are advertising
95s around the middle Ga area for about the same price. Eddie Bauer
and Limited are a good bit higher.

I recently took delivery of a GC Laredo w/V8 and 28f package for $400 over
factory invoice in California.  This was a factory order.  You should be able
to do just as well, or better, on an in-stock vehicle in your area.

Call the Consumer Reports New Car service (800-933-5555), they’ll mail or
fax you a printout telling you exactly what the dealer paid for the car.
    A few weeks ago I coughed up $12 for a report on a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner,
walked into the dealership and negotiated from the base price. They
wanted  $33500 and I wound up paying $29000 for it. Not bad for a $12
    investment.

After you get your price information from Edmunds (or Consummer Reports)
go to Roswell Jeep.  I got my Laredo (2wd MSRP ~$26,000) for $23,572 before
tax.  I did order it and had to do a lot of arm twisting to get the price
but the time and effort were well worth it.

It appears that Roswell has taken aim at Jaspers business so It can’t
hurt to call them for a price quote and have that figure with you when
you go in (Jasper is a fixed price dealer and will quote over the phone).
When I mentioned Jaspers price it seemed to loosen up the Roswell sales
people and shortly after, they came to my price, which happened to be
    $200 over invoice.

    Good Luck
